At Harrisburg United Methodist Church, mission and outreach are part of who we are. Whether we’re lending a hand to a neighbor, partnering with local schools, or supporting ministries across the United Methodist connection, we believe faith is most alive when it’s shared through love in action.

Missions

Our church family supports a variety of ministries that extend care and compassion

throughout the community and beyond.

  • Sharing Hope & Love Holiday Project – Each Christmas, our congregation adopts local families and individuals in need, providing gifts, food, and other essentials. We also remember homebound neighbors and those facing hardship throughout the year.


  • Back-to-School Project – Partnering with Darbydale Elementary School and Hamilton Intermediate School, we collect and deliver much-needed classroom supplies. Volunteers also lend a hand in the lunchroom and other school activities.


  • Mid-Ohio Food Collective – We support the Collective through monetary donations that help reduce hunger in central Ohio.


  • Undie Sunday – A newer outreach, collecting new undergarments and socks to meet emergency needs in local schools.


  • United Methodist Missions – Support for the United Methodist Children’s Home and the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) disaster response efforts.


  • Kairos Prison Ministry – Providing both baked goods and monetary support for this ministry that brings hope and spiritual renewal to those who are incarcerated.


  • Clothing & Donations – Providing clothing and other necessities to local ministries and schools, as well as financial support for Jackson Area Ministries and Mount Sterling Community Center.


  • Meals & Hospitality – Preparing meals for families following funerals, for the Pleasant Township Fire Department, and for homebound members.


  • Crafts for Good – Creating handmade mats for the homeless and winter caps for schoolchildren.

Community Outreach

We believe in being a visible, joyful presence in our community—sharing fellowship, hospitality, and the love of Christ through local events.

Harrisburg Easter Egg Hunt – Helping bring joy to local children and families through games, treats, and community fun.

Boo in the ’Burg – Partnering with the community’s annual Halloween celebration by providing games, prizes, and refreshments.

Christmas in the Village – Sharing meals, music, and fellowship during Harrisburg’s holiday celebration.
